It is about 11 km from Paphos and can be easily accessed from the coastal Paphos to Coral ?each road. It was built in 1966 on the Mavrokolimpos river at an altitude of about 100 meters and has capacity of 2.2 million cubic meters. The dirt road parallel to the lake is very bad. It is a birdwatching spot. You may see herds of goats. Fish in the lake include Carp, Mosquito fish, Roach, Bass and Silver bream.
